We finally got the kayaks wet and went to explore the town and pick up some provisions. Xena wasn’t thrilled, but she’ll adjust with time. The ferry wake scared her. It was blazing hot so the paddle felt nice. No burns today, we’re max protected.
Going to be here for the week most likely. Lots to do and waiting out the wind to make the next jump north. It is a great place to be if you pick the right place to anchor or pick up a ball. It’s deep and difficult to see the bottom on the west side, deep and rock on the NW side along with the ferry wake and tons of mooring balls. The east side by the spit works well if the wind is in your favor, but watch out for the logs! Xena is loving the swimming here at high tide. We’re now working on getting her a way to climb back onto the boat if she wants to jump off the back and swim.

Technically we’re in Drew Harbour waiting for our time to jump to the Octopus Islands.
